While it’s been a challenging year of historic proportions, IST Educational Tours has been working diligently to update our protocols for a post-Covid-19 era of travel. We continue to remain committed to operating a safe and positive experience for all future student travelers. 


In the spirit of the current climate, we have created the IST Educational Tours Confidence Guarantee.  We want you to feel confident that we will give you the best possible options for payments, cancellations, tour changes, etc. during these challenging COVID-19 times.

 

ISTET Travel Confidence Guarantee – New Groups in 2021-2022


Special Flexibility for Groups and Tour Participants

If closures, government regulations, or travel restrictions due to COVID-19 prevent the delivery of the Group’s tour date, the Group can move or postpone the tour with no change fees or choose to cancel the trip. Should a group decide to cancel, each participant will receive a refund minus any unrecoverable fees typically $59-$99 for bus-only trips and $150-$300 for trips including airfare.  Otherwise, all normal terms & conditions and penalty fees apply.

 

Optional ISTET Cancellation Insurance

Each participant can purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy coverage for a nominal cost that covers for trip cancellation, trip delay, lost baggage, and medical injury. Upon final payment, you will receive the policy with exact coverages and/or limitations. 

 

Enhanced Safety Protocols

  • Hygiene – Masks and Hand Sanitizer will be provided to all our participants upon departure and arrival to their destination.

  • On the Bus – Our bus partners have new enhanced procedures and protocols for cleaning and disinfecting buses to the standards recommended by the CDC using EPA-approved products. This includes Disinfectant Fog/Misting and Certified Sanitizing of buses at the start of each day.  Additionally, they are conducting an HVAC system disinfection to provide cleaner air circulation for the duration of the tour.

  • At the Hotel – Our hotel partners are deep cleaning and modifying everything from touchless check-in to the way you use the elevator. ISTCT will also offer affordable rooming upgrades for participants who request a reduced room occupancy.

  • On the Airplane – Our airline partners have new cleaning protocols ensuring aircraft cleaning standards meet or exceed CDC guidelines.  This includes using electrostatic spraying to disinfect most aircraft before departure, using state-of-the-art, hospital-grade, high-efficiency filters (HEPA) during the entire flight to circulate air and remove 99.97% of airborne particles, and mandatory face-covering requirements to help keep the travelers and cabin crew safe.

  • Adjusted Itineraries– ISTET is in-the-know with protocol updates for each of the Smithsonian’s and/or site visits. If necessary, at the time of travel, we will adjust your schedule to maximize your experiences each day to account for any new rules for capacity management, social distancing, outdoor events, masks, and any additional precautions that may need to be in place during your tour.
